Reddit Toolkit

The Reddit toolkit lets LLMs interact with Reddit on behalf of authenticated users via the Arcade tool-calling framework. It covers reading subreddit content, inspecting posts and comments, and performing write actions such as posting, commenting, and replying.

Capabilities

  • Account & identity: Retrieve the authenticated user's username and their own post history.
  • Subreddit discovery & moderation context: Check subreddit existence and accessibility, fetch subreddit rules, and list posts by listing type (hot, new, top, controversial) with time-range filtering where required.
  • Post reading: Fetch the full body of a single post or multiple posts in one request (prefer the bulk tool for two or more posts).
  • Comment reading: Retrieve the first page of top-level comments on any post.
  • Write actions: Submit a new text post to a subreddit, comment on a post, or reply to an existing comment.

OAuth

This toolkit uses OAuth 2.0 via Reddit as the identity provider. Arcade manages the OAuth flow automatically.

See the Reddit auth provider docs for setup instructions.
